About HeadsUp

Stay one step ahead.

A community-powered ICE activity alert system built for privacy, security, and solidarity.

Our Mission

HeadsUp exists to keep communities informed and safe by providing real-time, privacy-first alerts about ICE enforcement activity. We believe that access to timely information is a fundamental right, and that technology should serve communities—not surveil them.

Built by organizers, for organizers. Powered by community reports. Protected by encryption.

How It Works

HeadsUp monitors publicly reported ICE activity and sends encrypted alerts to subscribers when enforcement is reported near their registered locations. Alerts are delivered instantly through Signal's end-to-end encrypted messaging platform, ensuring your notifications remain private and secure.

1

Community Reports

People report ICE activity through public channels and community networks.

2

Automated Monitoring

HeadsUp scans reports and matches them to subscriber alert zones based on ZIP code and radius.

3

Instant Alerts

Subscribers receive encrypted Signal messages with location, distance, and timing information.

Why Privacy Matters

Privacy is a Right, Not a Privilege

For immigrant communities and their allies, privacy isn't just important—it's essential for safety. That's why HeadsUp is built with privacy at its core:

Our Values

Privacy First

Your safety and privacy are non-negotiable. Every design decision prioritizes your security.

Community-Powered

This system only works because of community members who report and share information.

Fast & Reliable

When it matters most, alerts need to be instant. We prioritize speed and uptime.

Solidarity

Immigrant rights are human rights. We stand with all communities facing enforcement.

Transparency

Open about how we work, what data we collect, and how we protect you.

Always Free

Community safety should never be a paid service. HeadsUp is free, forever.

Important Information

HeadsUp provides community-sourced information that may not always be accurate or complete. Always verify information through multiple sources and follow local news for official updates. This is a supplementary tool to help keep you informed—not a replacement for official information channels.

Know Your Rights: If ICE approaches you, remember you have the right to remain silent, refuse searches without a warrant, and speak with an attorney. Visit ACLU Know Your Rights for more information.
